        Most attacks on the front recorded in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions — General Staff

        Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attacked the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces 59 times, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in an update as of 16:00 on May 4.

        Artillery shelling of border areas continues. In Sumy region, Korenok, Bachivsk, Atynske, Budky, Sopych, Prohres and Vilna Sloboda came under fire, while in Chernihiv region — Zoria, Berylivka and Hremyach.

        In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, two combat engagements took place, with the enemy carrying out 49 shellings, five of them using multiple launch rocket systems.

        In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, three assaults were recorded near Prylipka and Starytsia. No active operations were reported in the Kupiansk direction.

        In the Lyman direction, two attempts by the enemy to advance near Yampil are ongoing. In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks near Kryva Luka and Riznykivka.

        In the Kramatorsk direction, two attacks were stopped near Nykyforivka and Virolubivka. In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces launched ten attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka and Stepanivka.

        In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops attempted 14 times to push Ukrainian units from their positions near Rodynske, Udachne, Novopavlivka, Novooleksandrivka, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka and Muravka.

        In the Oleksandrivka direction, four attacks were recorded near Sichneve, Yehorivka, Nove Zaporizhzhia and Zlahoda.

        In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 19 attacks near Zaliznychne, Hirske, Staroukrainka, Olenokostiantynivka, Yablukove, Sviatopetrivka and Charivne, with one engagement ongoing.

        In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attempted to advance near Shcherbaky. No active operations were reported in the Prydniprovske direction.

        No significant changes were recorded in other directions. Ukrainian forces continue to wear down the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
