In the early hours of June 10, Kyiv came under one of the most intense air attacks in recent memory. Russia launched a large-scale assault using combat drones, later followed by missile strikes. The information was confirmed by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

Air defense forces were active from the start of the alert. The first drone sightings were reported just after midnight, initially over the Obolonskyi district and later approaching central Kyiv.

According to preliminary data, at least seven districts of the capital sustained damage: Obolonskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Darnytskyi, Podilskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomianskyi, and Holosiivskyi.

Key consequences of the attack:

  • Four people were injured, two of whom were hospitalized;
  • In the Shevchenkivskyi district, cars, balconies, a residential building, and non-residential structures caught fire;
  • In Obolonskyi, drone debris fell on a school premises, and fires broke out in a pharmacy and warehouse facilities; a private house was also hit;
  • In the Darnytskyi district, a private home was struck; one person received medical aid on-site, another was hospitalized;
  • In the Solomianskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, debris from drones caused fires in apartment buildings and a business center;
  • In Podilskyi, debris landed in at least two locations;
  • A drone crash was reported in the Desnianskyi district.

Fires were reported in residential buildings, a pharmacy, warehouses, and a business center. Emergency services, medics, and utility crews responded on the ground.

“This was a difficult night, but thanks to our Defense Forces, casualties were minimized,” said Tymur Tkachenko, emphasizing that the enemy aimed to intimidate the city’s residents and destabilize the situation.

Damage assessments are ongoing. Authorities may deploy emergency response centers if needed. Residents are urged to heed air raid alerts and remain in shelters in the event of new attacks.
