The Ministry of Defense of Latvia has ordered Patria armored personnel carriers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are to be delivered by the end of 2025.
This was reported by Delfi with reference to the Latvian Defense Ministry.
“The Latvian-made armored personnel carriers will be handed over to Ukrainian defenders at the end of this year. This is not only an aid to Ukraine, but also an opportunity to test the equipment in combat conditions,” said Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds.
The Patria 6×6 is a modern multi-purpose armored personnel carrier manufactured by the Finnish company Patria. It is equipped with STANAG 4569 armor that protects the crew from small arms, shell fragments and mines. The vehicle can also be equipped with additional mounted protection.
The armored personnel carrier is designed for a crew of two and can carry up to 10 soldiers.
