On the night of May 24, Kyiv endured one of the most massive combined attacks by Russia, involving both strike drones and ballistic missiles. This was reported by the Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, on Telegram.
According to him, the enemy is improving its tactics, striking with drones and missiles simultaneously. As a result of the attack, all districts of the capital were affected, with the heaviest damage reported in the Obolonskyi, Solomianskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.
In the Holosiivskyi district, drone debris damaged five vehicles and injured one person. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, non-residential infrastructure was damaged at several sites; firefighting operations are still underway.
In the Solomianskyi district, a fire broke out between the 4th and 5th floors of a residential building. Seven people were injured, and one person was rescued. An operational response center has been deployed at 14 Vitalii Skakun Street.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire in a non-residential building was reported and has since been contained. In the Dniprovskyi district, debris from enemy weapons damaged an apartment on the third floor of a multi-story building, leaving two people injured.
The Obolonskyi district was among the hardest hit. Debris fell in several open areas, and a shopping mall was damaged (without fire). A residential building suffered the most damage — apartments from the 3rd to the 6th floor were hit by a drone. At least five people were injured, and two were evacuated. The fire has been extinguished. A crisis response center was set up at 32B Obolonskyi Avenue.
Tkachenko urged Kyiv residents to stay away from debris of Russian weapons and immediately call 101 to report them. He also thanked Ukrainian defenders, rescuers, and all emergency services for their tireless efforts.
The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is expected to provide further information on the number and type of targets involved in the attack. Emergency response efforts are ongoing.
