On February 12, after a massive attack by Russia, nearly 2,600 buildings in Kyiv were left without heat due to damage to critical infrastructure.
This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
The 2,600 homes affected by the night attack are high-rise buildings on both the left and right banks of the capital. In particular, in the Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Pecherskyi, and Solomianskyi districts.
“Utility workers are already working to restore heat supply to these buildings,” the statement said.
Klitschko recalled that more than 1,100 high-rise buildings in the Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts are also without heat after the previous shelling. Due to critical damage to the Darnytska Thermal Power Plant, it is currently impossible to supply heat there.
According to DTEK, 107,000 families were left without electricity due to the night attack.
“Another difficult night for the energy sector. Due to a massive attack, some buildings in the Desnianskyi district were left without electricity. Energy workers immediately restored power to critical infrastructure facilities,” DTEK said.
Emergency power cuts are in effect in the Desnianskyi district of the capital, while temporary schedules are in place for other residents of Kyiv.
