Kharkiv already has equipment to generate its own electricity

Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov told a national TV marathon that as a result of the destruction of critical infrastructure by the Russian aggressor, Kharkiv does not have its own electricity generation and receives it from other regions.

‘We have already installed some equipment that can supply power, including to critical infrastructure. The process is slowing down because the equipment that will help Kharkiv generate power on its own is produced only abroad. It is in high demand, so there are certain queues.

But we are buying this equipment and will continue to buy it to make sure that Kharkiv has a certain energy island so that it is not dependent on other cities and regions,’ the mayor said.
