Iran has agreed to transfer 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium to Russia as part of a potential peace deal with the U.S. This is one of the key conditions of the revised Iranian proposal, which was conveyed to Washington via Pakistan.

This was reported by Al Arabiya.

According to unofficial information, Iran has proposed a multi-stage, long-term truce with political language that would allow Tehran to “save face.”

Under this proposal, the Iranian side is ready to freeze its nuclear program, but not to dismantle it. It is envisaged that 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium will be transferred to Russia, not the U.S. The issues of the nuclear program and uranium enrichment are proposed to be deferred to subsequent rounds of negotiations.

Tehran is also proposing the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz with Pakistan and Oman acting as guarantors.

At the same time, according to Axios, the U.S. side considers the new proposal only marginally better than the previous one and insufficient for reaching an agreement.

It is also reported that Washington has so far agreed to unfreeze only a quarter of Iranian assets, while Tehran is asking for this position to be reconsidered.

According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the U.S. has allegedly agreed to a temporary easing of oil sanctions during the negotiations, but there has been no official confirmation from Iran.
