A personal meeting between Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is possible only if there is progress on the issue of Transcarpathian Hungarians. Budapest stated that technical consultations between the sides are currently ongoing.
This was reported by Telex.
According to Hungarian government spokespersons, Ukraine must fulfill the Hungarian side’s demands regarding the settlement of the situation of the Hungarian minority in Ukraine.
“Then the possibility for a higher-level meeting will open if progress is achieved during these consultations,” the spokespersons said.
Earlier, Magyar himself initiated a meeting with Zelenskyy in Berehove and stated that he wanted to discuss the situation of Transcarpathian Hungarians and bilateral relations between Ukraine and Hungary.
