On September 9, drones attacked the foreign cargo ship TEDY in the Black Sea. Azerbaijani citizens were among the crew members. Two Azerbaijanis were killed in the attack and two others were injured.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
According to the ministry, Aslan Aliyev and Asim Gasimov were killed. Imran Novruzov and Rauf Aliyev were injured.
The injured were taken to a hospital in Chornomorsk, Odesa region, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry said it is coordinating with the country’s diplomatic missions and the relevant authorities of the countries involved.
After completing medical examinations and treatment, the injured citizens are expected to be returned to Azerbaijan and provided with the necessary consular assistance. Procedures are also under way to repatriate the bodies of those killed.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry urged its citizens to refrain from traveling to or working in regions where hostilities are ongoing or the security situation remains unstable, including aboard vehicles and ships operating on such routes.
