The death toll from a Russian strike on the National Academy of Sciences building in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district on September 28 has risen to two. New drone strikes and crashes were also reported in several districts of the capital in the evening.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported the developments.
While clearing the rubble at the National Academy of Sciences building, rescuers found the body of another person. The death of a woman had been reported immediately after the strike on the facility. Emergency and rescue operations at the site have been completed. According to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, six people were injured in the strike on the National Academy of Sciences building.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said there was another strike on a non-residential building in the Obolonskyi district in the evening.
In the Solomianskyi district, cars caught fire after a drone fell into the courtyard of a residential building. Emergency services were sent to the scene. In addition, according to preliminary information, a drone struck a non-residential building in the Podilskyi district. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a Russian drone struck a three-storey business centre.
