On the night of November 14, during a massive Russian attack on Kyiv, the Azerbaijani embassy was damaged. As a result, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry summoned the Russian ambassador, expressing its protest and demanding an investigation.
This is reported on the website of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the explosion completely destroyed part of the wall and damaged the administrative building, the consular section, official vehicles, and other structures of the diplomatic mission. There were no casualties among the staff.
Baku reminded the Russian side that similar incidents had occurred before: in 2022, after a strike on the Honorary Consulate in Kharkiv, and in 2024, when a Kinzhal missile created a crater next to the embassy building. Also, in August 2025, an air strike near the diplomatic mission again caused damage to buildings, and drone attacks were recorded at the SOCAR oil depot in the Odesa region.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized that the coordinates of the diplomatic missions had been provided to Russia back in April 2022, and all previous incidents had been officially recorded in notes. Baku stated that attacks on diplomatic missions were unacceptable and requested that Russia conduct an investigation and provide a detailed explanation.
