Australia has provided €6 million in grant funding to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. The country’s total contribution to the fund has now reached €24.5 million.

According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy, the funds were allocated by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal said the financing will be directed toward priority needs of the energy sector, taking into account current energy security challenges.

Previous Australian contributions have already been used to procure transformers of various capacities, packaged transformer substations, autotransformers, microprocessor-based relay protection terminals, and other energy equipment.
