Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court has allowed the seizure of part of the property of MP Yuliya Tymoshenko that was seized during searches, as well as assets registered in the name of her husband, Oleksandr Tymoshenko. At the same time, the court refused to seize funds held in the politician’s bank accounts.

According to hromadske, the decisions were announced during a live broadcast of the court hearing. The court rejected the request to seize funds held in Yuliya Tymoshenko’s bank accounts.

At the same time, the court allowed the seizure of assets belonging to Oleksandr Tymoshenko. These include a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUV, GAZ-14 and Audi A8 vehicles, as well as two garages in Dnipro.

The court also authorized the seizure of property taken from Yuliya Tymoshenko during a search conducted on January 13 at the office of the Batkivshchyna party. The seized items include six mobile phones, a system unit, $40,000 in cash together with a Nova Poshta parcel, an additional $6,300 in cash, and handwritten notes.

As reported by hromadske, on the evening of January 13 anti-corruption authorities announced that they had exposed Batkivshchyna party leader Yuliya Tymoshenko for allegedly proposing bribes to lawmakers in exchange for votes for or against specific draft laws.

Law enforcement officials released a fragment of a conversation between Tymoshenko and an unnamed lawmaker discussing personnel decisions. Investigators also found messages indicating that the instructions regarding appointments concerned recent government changes — the appointments of Mykhailo Fedorov and Denys Shmyhal to new positions, as well as the dismissal of Vasyl Maliuk as head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Tymoshenko confirmed reports of searches at her party’s office but denied all accusations.
