Today, on April 4, a new targeted strike by a Russian FPV drone on an energy facility, the Kherson CHPP, was recorded.
This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.
The President emphasized that such strikes cannot be an accident, because the Russians know that this is an energy facility and that it must be protected from any attacks in accordance with Russia’s promises to the American side.
“All Russian promises end up with missiles and drones, bombs or artillery. Diplomacy is an empty word for them. That is why we need pressure – sufficient pressure on Russia so that they feel the consequences of every deception, every strike, every day when they take lives and prolong the war,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized that a ceasefire could have been reached even earlier, but it is the Russian side that is blocking this process. According to him, Moscow has been refusing proposals to end hostilities since March 11, which means that it is Russia that is interested in continuing the war. Zelenskyy said that it was impossible to force the Kremlin to peace only by talking or waiting.
The President thanked everyone who helps diplomacy and all efforts for an honest peace to become effective.
“We are counting on America, on Europe, on other partners – we are counting on their ability to put pressure on the only cause of the war, namely, the Russian desire to destroy and kill,” Zelenskyy summarized.
