On the night of July 28 to 29, 2022, Russian forces killed over 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Olenivka prison colony. Three years have passed, yet no one has been held accountable. The investigation is blocked, and the UN mission has been disbanded.
This was stated by the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders in its latest appeal. They warn: this crime could happen again, as thousands of Ukrainians remain in Russian captivity — tortured, isolated, and cut off from the world.
To ensure the tragedy is not forgotten, Ukrainian communities across the globe are organizing rallies. Commemorative events and calls for action will take place in the United States, Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Norway, the Czech Republic, and Scotland.
Participants will demand an international investigation into the Olenivka massacre, support for Ukrainian POWs, and increased pressure on Russia to secure their release.
