Fifty-three Ukrainian citizens are missing in the disaster zone in Nepal. Among them is a group of 46 tourists who lost contact on the morning of August 26.
This was reported by Radio Svoboda, citing Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said it had received a report about losing contact with a group of 46 Ukrainian tourists who were in the disaster zone.
According to Nepal’s Tourist Police, as of the evening of August 26, a total of 53 Ukrainian citizens were considered missing.
The Ukrainian embassies in India and China are in contact with the competent authorities of those countries regarding search operations that may help establish the whereabouts of the Ukrainians.
As of now, there is no information about Ukrainian citizens among the dead or injured.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said he had instructed the Ukrainian embassies in India and China, as well as the Honorary Consul in Nepal, to maintain constant contact with local authorities and take all necessary measures as part of the search and rescue operations.
