Today, on April 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Chernihiv and Sumy regions to discuss security and restoration of the regions on the border with Russia.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in his evening address on April 3.
The President began his working trip in the village of Yahidne, which recently celebrated the anniversary of its liberation from the occupiers, emphasizing the importance of preserving the memory of Russian crimes, including the detention of residents in the basement of the school. Zelenskyy emphasized the restoration of the village’s infrastructure and the construction of new houses.
The president then visited Chernihiv, where he met with representatives of local communities, especially those bordering Russia and constantly under fire. He announced additional funds to support these communities, in particular for border and frontline areas.
While visiting Sumy region, Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian military for their service.
“I personally wanted to be here, I personally wanted to thank our soldiers: The Airborne Forces – the 80th Brigade, the 82nd Brigade, the Marines – the 36th Brigade and all those who perform tasks in Kursk region, who protect our state, who protect our Sumy region from the constant desire of Russians to enter Ukraine from these directions,” the president said.
With the commanders of the units, the Head of State discussed the need for additional supplies, equipment and drones to strengthen defense.
