Zelenskyy signs law on reform of medical and social expertise

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Law 11225, which is aimed at improving the work of medical and social expertise.

The main provisions of the law are:

  • the possibility of online participation in meetings of the medical and social expert assessment;
  • disability will be established not by personal presence, but by submitting documents for examination;
  • information on the results of medical and social expert assessment will be entered into the electronic health care system to simplify access to doctors and transparency.

The Cabinet of Ministers will also determine the terms for decision-making by commissions, as well as develop a list of grounds for remote, in absentia or on-site consideration of cases. Separately, the government will create a list of gross violations for which members of the medical and social expert assessment will be suspended from work.
