Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is not reducing its escalation and is sending signals that it is ready to expand the war. According to him, Russian forces struck 10 Ukrainian regions during the evening and overnight.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this on Telegram.
“A very brutal, deliberate Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia began in the evening. Residential nine-story buildings, a university building, a shopping center and a boiler house were damaged. As of now, five people are known to have been wounded, and some residents were evacuated,” the statement said.
According to the president, a woman was killed and three more people were wounded in a strike on Lozova in the Kharkiv region.
“Russia is not reducing its escalatory steps and is sending many signals that it is ready to expand the war,” the president said.
Zelenskyy stressed that pressure on Russia must continue.
“Every response and long-range sanctions are pressure that really works, and the world feels it. But diplomacy must work in parallel,” he said.
At the UN General Assembly, the Ukrainian side will discuss how joint efforts can help achieve peace.
