Zelenskyy offers Kim Jong-un to exchange captured DPRK soldiers for Ukrainian soldiers

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the capture of the first soldiers from North Korea who fought on the side of the Russian army. He announced this on his Telegram channel.

‘In addition to the first captured soldiers from North Korea, there will undoubtedly be others. It is a matter of time before our guys manage to capture more. And no one in the world should have any doubts that the Russian army depends on military assistance from the DPRK,’ Zelenskyy said.

The President emphasised that the Kremlin’s dependence on Pyongyang is another proof of the degradation of the Russian army and Vladimir Putin’s policy: ‘Putin began three years ago with NATO ultimatums and attempts to rewrite history, and now he cannot do it without such military assistance from Pyongyang.’

Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine is ready to return the DPRK’s captured soldiers to their leader Kim Jong Un, provided that he organises an exchange for Ukrainian prisoners of war.

‘Ukraine is ready to hand over his people to Kim Jong-un if he can organise their exchange for our soldiers who are held captive in Russia,’ he said.

For those North Korean soldiers who do not want to return to the DPRK, Ukraine offers an alternative: the opportunity to promote peace by spreading the truth about the war in Korean.

‘Those Koreans who wish to bring peace closer by spreading the truth about this war in Korean will have this opportunity,’ Zelenskyy stressed
