Ukrainian troops carried out an offensive operation in the Oleksandrivka sector from January to August, regaining control of 745 square kilometers of territory and 26 settlements. According to him, the operation was carried out by troops of the Air Assault Forces and other units involved.
As a result of the active operations, Ukrainian troops liberated 745 square kilometers of territory. Twenty-six villages in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions were returned to Ukrainian control.
Zelenskyy said Russian losses during the operation amounted to at least 9,550 troops killed and more than 6,600 wounded.
According to the president, Ukrainian forces also managed to replenish the prisoner exchange fund.
“This offensive operation of ours was carried out precisely — exactly as planned,” Zelenskyy said.
On August 12, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi, Chief of the General Staff Ihor Skybiuk and Commander of the Air Assault Forces Oleh Apostol briefed the president on the results of the active operations and the next steps.
