Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva in New York. According to him, the IMF will help find part of the funds needed for Ukraine’s financial stability next year.

Zelenskyy thanked the IMF for its support programs, which help the Ukrainian economy withstand the pressure.
“The IMF will help find part of the funds needed for Ukraine’s financial stability next year. Thank you for this decision. Ultimately, every economic step of support is about the fair protection of our people,” the president emphasized.
During the meeting, Zelenskyy and Georgieva discussed the importance of voting on laws that are part of Ukraine’s commitments to its partners. The president noted that the Verkhovna Rada had already voted on some of the decisions, while all other laws necessary for financial support should be passed by the end of the year.
Zelenskyy also briefed Georgieva on the security situation in Ukraine and changes in Russia’s tactics of aerial attacks.
According to him, Russia is trying not only to destroy life itself but also to paralyze the work of businesses and the state as much as possible. The president stressed that this is why macro-financial assistance is particularly important for Ukraine now.
