Ukrainian forces struck the Slavyansk-EKO oil refinery in Slavyansk-na-Kubani, Krasnodar Krai, Russia, on September 13. Ukraine’s military intelligence said a key oil-processing unit and the facility’s storage tank farm were hit.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.
The operation was carried out by personnel from the intelligence agency’s Active Operations Department and Unmanned Systems Department together with other units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces as part of a deep-strike operation.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the strike hit a key oil-processing unit and the refinery’s storage tank farm.
A large fire broke out at the facility after the attack.
Ukraine’s military intelligence said thick smoke and the glow from the fire could be seen from dozens of kilometers away.
Ukrainian intelligence says the refinery supplied resources to Russia’s war effort.
