On the night of 9 March 2025 (from 19.00 on 8 March), the enemy attacked with 119 Shahed-type attack UAVs and imitator drones of various types from the following directions: Orel, Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (Crimea).
According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, as of 09.00, 73 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed to have been shot down in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions.
37 enemy imitator drones were lost locally (without any negative consequences).
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces.
The enemy attack affected Donetsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions.
