Ukraine has developed a new interceptor drone designed to counter jet-powered Shahed attack drones. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the new system has already been successfully deployed.
Zelenskyy announced this following a briefing from Security Service of Ukraine official Oleksandr Poklad.
The president said the breakthrough was achieved by the military counterintelligence branch of the Security Service of Ukraine as part of efforts to counter jet-powered Shahed drones.
“A new interceptor drone has been developed and is already being successfully used. Step by step, we are moving to provide Ukraine with greater protection,” Zelenskyy said.
He also thanked the developers and manufacturers working to scale up the weapons systems Ukraine needs.
The president did not provide additional specifications of the new interceptor drone or details of its combat use.
