The Government held an offsite meeting in Kharkiv region

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held an offsite meeting of the Government in the Kharkiv region.

According to the Prime Minister, Kharkiv region is among the regions that have received the most funds this year.

Almost UAH 16 billion has already been allocated as a subvention:

  • UAH 6 billion was additionally allocated for the construction of fortifications.
  • The Government has allocated UAH 2.4 billion to Kharkiv region to help it prepare for and survive the heating season.
  • UAH 2.7 billion has been allocated for the construction and arrangement of shelters in educational institutions.
  • UAH 1.5 billion has been allocated to support Kharkiv region’s businesses.
  • More than UAH 600 million was provided for the repair of apartment buildings in the Kharkiv region.
  • More than UAH 200 million was allocated for the Kharkiv region to equip shelters and create safe conditions in hospitals.

Regarding fortifications, Shmyhal reported 99.9% of the work completed – almost 800 strongholds have been built and equipped.

“The Ministry of Defense has been instructed to ensure that all fortifications are equipped with drainage systems for normal drainage. The necessary changes have been made to the documentation, and the work has been completed,” the Prime Minister said.

Special attention was paid to demining in the region, as Kharkiv region is one of the most mine-contaminated areas.

“Currently, about 320 sappers from various government organizations are working on demining here using 24 mechanical demining machines. In addition, there are about 400 more sappers from non-governmental and international organizations in the region,” Shmyhal said.
