Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has won the first round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai, defeating “neutral” player Anna Kalinska in two sets.
Four Ukrainian tennis players made it to the main draw of the tournament in Dubai: Elina Svitolina, Diana Yastremska, Marta Kostiuk and Angelina Kalinina.
Diana Yastremska started the competition, defeating Poland’s Magda Lynette in two sets in the first round.
Elina Svitolina took to the court second and won her game against Anna Kalinska. In the second round of the tournament, she will meet the winner of the match between Rebecca Šramková (Slovakia) and Clara Towson (Denmark).
