In Smila, Cherkasy region, the number of victims of a night-time rocket and drone attack has risen to eleven. This was reported by the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Ihor Taburets, on Telegram. Among the wounded are two children, all of whom are receiving the necessary medical care.

According to Taburets, preliminary data shows that three missiles and eight kamikaze drones were recorded within the city limits. The enemy deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure. Three nine-storey buildings, private homes and cars were significantly damaged. At least four educational institutions, a psychiatric hospital and the educational building of the National University of Food Technologies, where the junior bachelor’s degree graduation ceremony had taken place the day before, were also destroyed.

Commissions are currently continuing to survey the affected sites to determine the final extent of the damage. Temporary accommodation has already been set up in a local school for residents of damaged buildings. The supply of building materials for urgent repairs has also begun.
