Scholz tried to undermine Trump’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine with his call to Putin – Duda

Polish President Andrzej Duda has suggested that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s phone call to Russian leader Vladimir Putin could have been aimed at undermining US President Donald Trump’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine.

He stated this in a comment to Bloomberg.

“I think it was an attempt to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine before Donald Trump takes office,” Duda said.

The Polish president also criticized Scholz’s decision to invite current US President Joe Biden to talks on Ukraine’s future with the leaders of France and the United Kingdom, which took place in Berlin in October.

Duda expressed surprise that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was not invited to these talks. Bloomberg emphasizes that Duda’s statements indicate tensions among Kyiv’s allies in the face of a possible “geopolitical upheaval” due to Trump’s return to the White House.
