The death toll in Bucha district of Kyiv region from the Russian attack on August 28, followed by a fire and detonation, has risen to 37. August 30 has been declared a day of mourning in the region for the victims of the Russian strike.
This was reported by head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko.
Work at the site of the tragedy is ongoing. Rescuers and other relevant services continue to work at the scene.
On August 30, the State Flags of Ukraine will be lowered in Kyiv region as a sign of mourning and remembrance. Entertainment events will also be restricted.
As a reminder, on the evening of August 28, a drone either fell or struck the territory of an enterprise in the village of Myla in Bucha district, after which a large-scale fire broke out and detonation began. People were killed in the attack, dozens were injured and around 400 people were evacuated. Investigators are examining the circumstances of the tragedy, including the legality of placing and storing explosive items and materials at the enterprise. Among those killed was the head of the Dmytrivka community, Taras Didych, who arrived at the site of the strike to help people.
