Russian occupiers launched 60 drones across Ukraine: 42 were shot down by air defence forces

Russia attacked Ukraine with 60 Shahed UAVs and unidentified drones on the night of 22 October, 42 of which destroyed air defence forces.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.

‘It has been confirmed that 42 enemy UAVs were shot down in Sumy, Dnipro, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions. 10 Russian drones have been locally lost. One UAV flew to Belarus, and three more flew back to Russia. One enemy UAV is still in Ukrainian airspace. Combat operations are ongoing.’

Most of the attack UAVs were reportedly shot down in Sumy region. However, there are dead and injured as a result of the Russian strike.

In total, the invaders launched 60 drones from the Russian cities of Kursk, Yeysk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
‘The air attack is being repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine,’ the Air Force summed up.
