As of 16:00 on 23 February, Russian troops continue active assault operations along the frontline, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports. Since the beginning of the day, there have been 47 combat engagements.
The most tense situation is observed at the Liman, Toretsk and Pokrovsk directions.
In the Liman sector, the enemy attacked nine times near Novoyehorivka, Novolyubivka, Yampolivka and Kuzmyne – Ukrainian troops have already repelled six attacks, and three more are ongoing.
In the Toretsk sector, eight hostile attacks were registered near Krymske and Toretsk, and four combat engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the occupants made 11 attempts to break through in the areas of Promin, Kotlynove, Andriivka and Bohdanivka. Ukrainian defence forces repelled 10 attacks, and one battle is ongoing.
In addition, the enemy launched air strikes on Sloviansk, Rai-Oleksandrivka, Gulyaypol, Zelenyi Pole and Kamianske.
Ukrainian defenders are holding the line, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.
