Russian fleet leaves Syria amid fighting

Russian warships left the base in the Syrian city of Tartus between December 1 and 3, as evidenced by satellite images, Radio Liberty reports, citing OSINT analyst MT Anderson.

Among the ships that left the port are two frigates (Admiral Gorshkov and Admiral Golovko), a patrol ship, and sea tankers.

This happened against the backdrop of the Syrian rebel offensive, which has been going on since November 27. On November 30, the Syrian military confirmed that the rebels had entered Aleppo.
