On the evening of September 20, Russian forces attacked Sumy with drones and carried out airstrikes on the city. A woman was killed in the attack, while her 41-year-old husband sustained multiple shrapnel wounds.
This was reported by Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov.
Two Russian drones struck near a multi-storey residential building.
“A woman was killed in the attack. Her 41-year-old husband sustained multiple shrapnel wounds. He was taken to hospital, where doctors are providing the necessary treatment,” Hryhorov said.
The strikes damaged a residential building and five vehicles.
Less than an hour later, another Russian drone struck a civilian vehicle. The car caught fire, and rescuers extinguished the blaze.
During the same period, Sumy also came under airstrikes. One of the city’s educational institutions was damaged.
Rescuers inspected the area and found no fires. According to preliminary information, no one was injured in that strike.
