The number of people killed in a Russian attack on Odesa has increased. During the clearing of debris from a destroyed building, rescuers discovered another body.
The head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, reported that during debris removal at a building on Prokhorivska Street, rescuers recovered the body of a man. According to him, this brought the number of fatalities in the city to two, while the search-and-rescue operation continued.
At the same time, Suspilne Odesa, citing its correspondent at the scene, reported that another body was found under the rubble of the same building hit by a Shahed drone. According to the broadcaster, the death toll from the Russian attack on Odesa has increased to three.
According to Olena Kolodenko, head of the Odesa City Council’s Health Department, 35 people were injured in the attack. Twelve of them were hospitalized, while doctors mostly recorded acute stress reactions among the others.
As reported earlier, on the night of January 27, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on Odesa, striking the city with more than fifty attack drones. An infrastructure facility, residential buildings, a church, a kindergarten, a lyceum, a fitness center, a shop, and a construction site were damaged. DTEK reported a repeated attack on an energy facility in the city.
