On the morning of September 24, a drone crashed near the town of Solca in Romania after spending about four minutes in the country’s airspace. There were no reports of injuries.

According to Romania’s Defence Ministry, the radar surveillance system detected an aerial target moving over Ukrainian territory near the border with Romania.
Two Romanian Air Force F-16 fighter jets were scrambled from the 86th Air Base at Borcea to monitor the situation. According to radar data, the target entered Romanian airspace through the northern part of Botoșani County and remained there for about four minutes before crashing near Solca in Suceava County. Local residents filmed the drone while it was in flight and later recorded its wreckage.
Interior Ministry units arrived at the scene, secured the area and found the drone. There was no fire at the crash site.
Because of the air alert, classes were suspended until 10:00 in four settlements in the area.
Digi24 notes that this was the third drone-related alert in the northern counties of Moldova over the past two weeks.
