Putin backs Orban’s “Christmas truce” initiative

The Kremlin has reiterated that Vladimir Putin supported the Hungarian prime minister’s initiative for a “Christmas truce” during discussions with Viktor Orban, but according to press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Ukraine, in particular President Zelensky, rejected the proposal.

This was reported by Russian media.

Peskov also noted that the Kremlin is ready to resume peace talks, but only on the basis of the so-called “Istanbul agreements.” According to him, these agreements were agreed upon, but the Ukrainian side subsequently left the talks.
