Macron said the talks with Zelenskyy focused on Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and the country’s preparations for winter.
“France will stand by Ukraine to help it get through the winter, and the G7 Energy group will also be mobilized in support,” the French president wrote.
France is preparing a contract to supply radars and provide interceptors to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses.
Macron also said he had discussed support for Ukraine with U.S. President Donald Trump. Other issues included the prospect of an energy truce and a moratorium in the Black Sea.
“This will be one of the issues in the negotiations that must resume and lead to a just and lasting peace,” Macron said.
Zelenskyy also held meetings with U.S. lawmakers. A new Drone Deal has been prepared for signing.
Among the main topics of his visit to the United States, the Ukrainian president cited strengthening air defenses, securing sufficient financing for Ukraine and finding solutions that could bring an end to the war closer.
