Last Ukrposhta Branch in Kupiansk Closes Amid Ongoing Shelling

The last operating branch of Ukrposhta in the Kupiansk community of Kharkiv region has been shut down due to relentless shelling by Russian forces. ATMs have also ceased functioning, according to Andriy Besedin, head of the Kupiansk city military administration, who shared this during a telethon.

“Regrettably, due to security concerns, we had to close the Ukrposhta branch to prevent gatherings and ensure the safety of people. It was no longer feasible to risk the lives of employees and visitors. ATMs have also stopped working because of extensive use of FPV drones targeting collection vehicles,” Besedin stated.

He noted that the Russian military is monitoring access routes to Kupiansk and frequently uses FPV drones to attack transport, obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid.

“The security situation is extremely dire, particularly critical on the left bank. Continuous shelling is causing widespread destruction. The enemy’s strategy is to destroy our cities, homes, and take lives. Today, two people were killed, and another was injured. It’s now crucial for residents to evacuate to safer locations,” Besedin stressed.

He also mentioned that the victims of an earlier strike in the village of Kivsharivka remain trapped under debris, as ongoing shelling by the occupiers prevents the use of specialized equipment and the conduct of rescue operations.

“Three deceased individuals remain under the rubble, and it is currently impossible to recover them,” Besedin reported.

He added that 1,100 residents of the community on the left bank of the Oskol River are left without electricity, gas, centralized water, and heating.
