Kyiv City Council deputy Serhiy Mamoyan died in a traffic accident

Kyiv city council deputy, deputy chairman of the permanent commission on transport, communications and advertising Serhiy Mamoyan was killed in a traffic accident.

A number of media outlets claim that Mamoyan died in a traffic accident, but not in Kyiv. He could have died in a car crash that occurred yesterday in Odessa region.

According to local police, a 52-year-old woman and two other passengers, aged 51 and 55, were in the front seat with him. The driver failed to manage and drove off into a ditch, the car overturned and caught fire. The 52-year-old woman along with the driver died on the spot. Other passengers are now in hospital with injuries.


Sergei Mamoyan was 40 years old. On October 25, 2020, he was elected a deputy of the Kyiv city Council of the 9th convocation on the list of the “Opposition Platform for Life”. According to the movement “Honestly”, he ignored almost 47% of the issues submitted for consideration by the Kyiv City Council.
