Fourteen-year-old Daniel Omansky, who was killed in a Russian drone strike on a residential building in Kyiv on September 25, was an Israeli citizen. His mother was injured and hospitalized, while the family asked for the boy’s body to be transferred to Israel for burial.

According to the outlet, a Russian drone struck a building in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district at around 8:00 a.m., not far from the Israeli Embassy.
Daniel was at home at the time of the attack. According to information reported by BILD, the teenager was in his room doing his school homework.
The boy’s mother was injured and taken to hospital. Daniel’s younger brother was also in the apartment but was not hurt.
According to Ynet, the family had lived in both Ukraine and Israel and returned to Kyiv about 20 years ago. The victim’s grandparents live in Israel, so the family asked for Daniel’s body to be transferred there for burial.
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Russian strikes on Kyiv and said the Israeli consul in the Ukrainian capital was in contact with the victim’s family.
“We condemn the recent Russian attacks on Kyiv, in which a 14-year-old Israeli citizen was killed and 20 people, including the boy’s mother, were injured,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry expressed condolences to Daniel’s family and to the families of others killed in recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities.
