Herman Smetanin said he had completed his work as director general of the Ukrainian Defense Industry joint-stock company.
Smetanin announced this on Telegram today.
“I have completed my work as director general of the Ukrainian Defense Industry JSC,” he said.
Smetanin did not disclose the reasons for leaving the position.
On July 6, a fire followed by detonations broke out in Vyshneve during a Russian attack. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later said that officials from two state-owned enterprises within the Ukroboronprom structure had approved the placement of weapons depots in the city in violation of the law, a decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff and their official duties.
Zelenskyy did not name the officials mentioned in his statement.
