In the first half of September, Ukraine’s Defense Forces used Fire Point systems to knock out approximately 10% of Russia’s oil refining capacity. At least five refineries in different regions of Russia were targeted over the course of two weeks.
This was reported by Ukrainian company Fire Point, which develops and manufactures long-range strike drones and cruise missiles.
According to the company, the following facilities were targeted:
September 5 — Ryazan Refinery;
September 10 — Saratov Refinery;
September 12 — Slavyansk-na-Kubani Refinery;
September 13 — Nizhnekamsk Refinery;
September 14 — Syzran Refinery.
Fire Point said the strikes would continue for as long as Russia continues to attack Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The company also said it is continuing to scale up drone production in order to expand the capabilities of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Meanwhile, Reuters reported this week that the Syzran and Saratov refineries had halted operations following drone attacks. At the Syzran refinery, the main crude distillation unit, which accounts for about 71% of the plant’s capacity, was damaged, while the Saratov refinery stopped processing crude after equipment was damaged and a fire broke out.
