A fire broke out overnight on August 31 at the WB Electronics facility in the Polish city of Skarżysko-Kamienna. The company produces components and systems for drones used by the Polish and Ukrainian armed forces, while security services have not ruled out arson.

The fire broke out at around 12:23 a.m. Shortly afterwards, an operator from an external security company notified police that an intrusion sensor had been triggered on the premises.
According to unofficial information, a surveillance camera recorded an unidentified person wearing a balaclava who may have entered the WB Electronics site by climbing over the fence. A backpack and a sweatshirt were found near the facility.
Police officers, a dog handler with a service dog and a drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera were sent to the scene. Poland’s Internal Security Agency and Military Counterintelligence Service were also notified.
According to the fire service, the blaze was small and the firefighting operation lasted about two hours. Firefighters cut the power, extinguished the fire and ventilated the building.
The facility was not operating when the fire broke out, and no one was injured. Police said the fire occurred in a structure near a warehouse where electronic components were stored.
After firefighters completed their work, officers from the Internal Security Agency joined the investigation. The agency said it was examining whether the fire could have been an act of sabotage.
WB Electronics is Poland’s largest private defence company. Its facility in Skarżysko-Kamienna produces composite structures and control systems for drones.
