On the night of October 24, drones attacked the Tolyattikauchuk chemical plant in Russia’s Samara region, which produces chemical materials used in the manufacture of rocket fuel. A fire broke out at the facility, while local residents reported powerful explosions and disruptions to electricity and water supplies.
ASTRA reported this, citing the results of an OSINT analysis of videos showing the attack.
According to the outlet, residents of Tolyatti reported numerous explosions overnight and a drone attack targeting the city’s industrial district. An ASTRA OSINT analyst examined the footage and determined that the fire had broken out at the Tolyattikauchuk plant at 8 Novozavodskaya Street.
Local chat groups reported that the street where the plant is located had been closed. The Tolyatti thermal power plant is also nearby and may have been hit, according to local residents. Power and water outages were reported across the city, although reports of damage to the power plant have not been confirmed.
Tolyattikauchuk has been part of the Tatneft Group since 2019. The facility produces synthetic rubber, monomers, hydrocarbon fractions and additives for automotive gasoline.
The synthetic rubber manufactured at the plant is also used in the production of solid rocket propellant for tactical and ballistic missiles.

This is not the first reported attack on the facility. On September 12, 2026, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a strike on the plant and a major fire in Tolyatti. However, ASTRA’s OSINT analysis at the time indicated that the fire had broken out near another facility in Russia’s petrochemical industry, KuibyshevAzot.
Drones also attacked Russia’s Rostov region, Krasnodar Krai and occupied Crimea overnight. Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that its forces had destroyed 616 drones.
Rostov region Governor Yuri Slyusar said that more than 80 drones had been shot down or suppressed over the region. In Rostov-on-Don, drone debris fell onto the roof of the Rostovpassazhirtrans public transport company, damaging 21 buses.
In the Myasnikovsky district, a transformer substation was damaged, leaving more than 170 homes without electricity.
In Krasnodar Krai, a substation caught fire in the Temryuk district. In the Yeysk district, a falling drone damaged windows in two apartment buildings. Debris from another intercepted drone landed in the yard of a private house.
In Russian-occupied Sevastopol, an attack on energy infrastructure caused a power outage. The Russian-appointed head of the city said that essential public facilities had switched to backup power supplies and that crews were working to restore electricity.
