On the night of May 26, Russian telegram channels reported a massive drone attack on a number of Russian regions, including industrial facilities.
According to reports, the drones attacked the city of Yelabuga in Tatarstan, where the production of Shahed kamikaze drones is allegedly located. It has not yet been reported whether the company suffered any direct damage.
An attack was also reported in the city of Kineshma, Ivanovo region – according to preliminary data, a chemical plant could have been targeted.
In the Tula region, the power supply was partially cut off after the drone attack. Local authorities have not yet provided official comments on the nature of the damage.
Moscow’s Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports have imposed temporary restrictions on the acceptance and release of aircraft, Rosaviatsia reports.
According to the report, this was done “to ensure flight safety.”
The Russian Defense Ministry said that 148 drones were shot down over the country’s territory over the past day, 96 of them overnight.
Official information on the consequences of the strikes from Russian agencies remains limited.
