The death toll from the Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih on August 21 has risen to 14. At least 103 people are known to have been injured, including children.
This was reported by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.
“There are already 103 injured, including 11 children. Twenty-seven are in serious condition, including three children. One 14-year-old girl is being transferred by an intensive care team to the regional children’s hospital with a traumatic brain injury,” said Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council.
According to police, in the first minutes after the strike on one of the city’s largest shopping and entertainment centers, police officers and rescuers began evacuating visitors, providing first aid and extinguishing the fire. At that moment, Russian forces carried out a second strike.
Firefighting efforts are being complicated by the constant threat of further shelling. The fire has engulfed one-third of the entire complex.
