On the morning of October 10, Russian forces launched strikes on Zaporizhzhia, including a five-story residential building where one of the entrances partially collapsed. The death toll from the attack has risen to 11, including three children.
This was reported by Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
“The death toll from this morning’s Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia continues to rise. We now know of 11 civilians killed, including three children,” the regional governor said.
Russian forces struck several areas of the city. One of the strikes hit a five-story residential building, partially destroying one of its entrances and causing structural elements at the second-floor level to collapse.
Earlier reports indicated that five people had been killed, including two children, and ten others injured.
According to the latest figures, the death toll has risen to 11. Regional authorities have not yet provided updated information on the number of injured.
Search and rescue operations are continuing at the strike sites. Rescue workers are still clearing the rubble of destroyed buildings, where people may remain trapped.
“This is a terrible tragedy for all of Zaporizhzhia. My heartfelt condolences go out to every family that lost their loved ones today,” Semikin wrote.
October 11 has been declared a Day of Mourning in Zaporizhzhia.
