Today, November 20, a new stage of repatriation measures took place. 1,000 bodies, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen, were returned to Ukraine.
This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
In the near future, all necessary examinations will be carried out and the repatriated bodies will be identified.
The repatriation took place thanks to the joint efforts of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and other structures of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine.
The transportation of repatriated persons to specialized state institutions and the organization of the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement agencies and forensic medical experts is carried out by personnel of the Central Directorate of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
